The sequel we’ve all been waiting for | The Incredibles

Posted on

It’s the sequel the world (well Disney fans at least) have been waiting for, and alas the wait is over. Pixar announced today that a sequel to The Incredibles is in the works, along with a third Cars film.

As the film was released 10 years ago (I know it’s hard to believe!) I can’t help but wonder what time period the film will take place. Will they continue where they left off at the end of the first film, or will we see a ten-year time period in the characters. This would mean our beloved Jack Jack will no longer be a cute little baby but very powerful 10-year-old.

So what do we actually know about The Incredibles sequel?

Sadly, not much as of now. However Brad Bird WILL be returning as writer (and hopefully director) so the story is in good hands.

As for Cars 3 I am neither disappointed or overly excited at the prospect of a third film. I loved the first one and am yet to actually see the second, but let’s face it. Anything Pixar put their name to turns out amazing. Let’s just hope they are writing a great story and are not just producing a film to make loads of money on an already well-known name.

For now all I can say is I am very excited for The incredibles sequel, a film I have been waiting for for 10 years!

Until next time,

– Bee

PS. This announcement has reminded me that I am yet to finish my Pixar series so yeah…I’ll get back on that (Ratatouille is next!)

The Disney Tag!

Posted on

Got a notification today telling me it’s my one year anniversary on WordPress! Aww!

To celebrate I thought I’d do what I do best, that is talk about Disney.

I saw this tag going around youtube, and seeing as I don’t make that many youtube videos I thought I would do it on my blog (this is also my way of saying sorry I’ve been gone so long and yes I am back properly now!) Also I mixed two tags together cause its more fun that way!

So let’s get started with the questions.

1. A scene in any Disney movie you wish you could experience.

SO difficult to choose just one but at the end of the day I’ll have to go with the lantern scene in Tangled

Not only is this one of my favourite Disney movies but its such a beautiful scene not only because of the romantic setting for Rapunzel and Flynn but also because she knows these lanterns are somehow related to her life…she just doesn’t know why yet.

2. An unforgettable experience/moment you’ve had at the parks.

This is very hard for me to admit but… I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO DISNEYLAND!!! *cries in the corner* But I am saving up to go to Disneyland in florida so it’s going to happen!!!
3. What non-Disney song(s) reminds you/brings back memories of Disney and/or the parks?

I was only talking about this with my mam this morning because the song came on the radio!

It’s Louis Armstrong singing What A Wonderful World because I remember as a kid an ad on the Disney channel for loads of the animated classics and that song was in the background so now every time I hear it I think of Disney!
4. When was the first time you went to a Disney park?

Quit asking questions about Disney parks!!!

5. If you could choose any Disney character to be your best friend, who would you choose?

Can I pick Meeko even though he’s a raccoon?

Okay Meeko can be my sidekick but if I had to pick a person it would probably be Rapunzel or Aladdin or Belle.

…No…I’m gonna stick with Meeko…
6. Who are you favorite Disney princesses?

Belle and Rapunzel!
7. Name a scene/moment in any Disney movie that never fails to make you cry.

Possibly the saddest moment in any Disney film…or film in general…

I feel like crying at the picture alone!
8. What is the first Disney movie you remember seeing?

Not necessarily the first Disney film I ever saw (although it is quite possible) but the first one I remember seeing is The Lion King which came out in 1994 (when I was 2…THAT WAS 20 YEARS AGO!!!! – I feel old now)
9. What is your favorite Disney movie?

This is a very difficult question to answer. But if I had to choose just one…It would be Beauty and the Beast!
10. Who is your favorite Disney villain?

Someone once said to me “I love how you have an obsession with the Disney villains” and I was like “what? No I don’t” then I thought about it and realised I actually do so to choose just one villain would be very difficult…which is why I’m not going to! I’ll narrow it down to my favourite five. (I know that’s still loads but I CAN’T DECIDE!!!)

Gaston. Jafar. Scar. Ursula. Cruella DeVil

*Shameless self plug* Check out my Disney Villains painting.

11. What is your least favorite Disney movie?

That’s like asking a mother which is her least favourite child!

Out of the classics, I’ll probably say post Disney renaissance period…so maybe Home on the Range?
12. What is your favorite Disney song?

Wait. Ever? How am I suppose to choose? Ugh…why did I decide to do this tag?

Maybe A Whole New World (Aladdin) Part of your World (The Little Mermaid) or The Beauty and the Beast soundtrack…wah I wanna pick them all!!!
13. What Disney Character (s) has your personality or has your dream personality?

I’m pretty sure that I am Rapunzel’s (Tangled) and Anna’s (Frozen) love child. You know when Rapunzel sings When Will My Life Begin and she lists off all the things she does? Like painting, baking, sewing, reading, etc. That pretty sums up what I do in my free time. Not only that but I’m quite naïve like her and I always want to see the best in people. Okay, this is getting too deep, lets move on. Anna on the other hand is very clumsy (me in a nutshell) and again very optimistic about the outside world and all that kind of stuff so I’d definitely say they are the two characters that have my personality.

My dream personality on the other hand would probably involve a bit more of Belle’s grace and demure nature. Maybe some of Mulan’s feisty-ness and bad-ass-ness. And I would throw in some of Timon and Pumbaa’s chilled ‘Hakuna Matata’ approach to life because I could really benefit from having no worries.
14. If you could change any scene in a Disney movie, what would it be and why?

I know this is weird, (SPOILER ALERT FOR TANGLED!) but I really wish they didn’t have to cut Rapunzel’s hair SO short at the end of Tangled. I would have preferred if they kept it a bit longer. The short hair just doesn’t suit her.
15. If you had to get stuck on any ride in any Disney park for more than 30 minutes, what would you want it to be?

The teacups…I don’t like rides and that seems like the mildest one. Plus I’m Irish so I love tea, and what’s better than sitting in a giant teacup!

16 Which Disney voice actor would you most like to meet?

Jim Cummings! Simply because he is amazing and so very talented!

17 Your favorite princess dress/outfit?

I actually love Tiana’s dress because it’s perfectly incorporated with the movie (looking like a lily pad) so that’s pretty cool but I also love Belle’s yellow dress!

18 Your favorite Disney soundtrack?

Anything Alan Menken puts his name to I love, so Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Tangled the list goes on and on. Probably the most beautiful would be The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

All time favourite though if push came to shove is Beauty and the Beast.

19 Your favorite “iconic” moment?

The lantern scene from Tangled or The Circle of Life scene with Rafiki lifting Simba above the rock! Also I have a cat and yes I force him to do that scene with me all the time!

20 Best Disney kiss?

21 If you could live in any world from a Disney movie, which would you choose?

Um Neverland so I never had to grow up and I could watch Disney movies forever? Yeah that sounds good.

22 Which Disney princess has the best sidekicks?

HAS to be Pocahontas, but that’s just because I am in love with Meeko. Like, I actually googled if it were legal to own a pet racoon in Ireland.

How can you not love him?!

23 If you could have a party themed around any Disney movie, which one would you pick?

Definitely Alice in Wonderland!

24 If you could choose the plot/adaptation for the next Disney movie, what would it be?

That’s for me to know and for you to find out in about 10 years when Disney buys the rights! *Pipe dream*

25 Which Disney movie, even if it’s not your favorite, will always have a special place in your heart and for what reason?

Probably Beauty and the Beast obviously because it is my favourite but also because it was Howard Ashman’s last film before he died and he was so crazily talented and is one of the main reasons I love Disney films so much.

Beauty and the Beast is actually dedicated to Howard Ashman too.

So there’s the tag. Hope you enjoyed!

I tag everyone who is reading this to do this tag because I really want to see what you come up with.

Doctor Who Tardis Cake

Posted on

Remember me? I’m that Irish girl who used to blog a lot and then abandoned it!!

No really I switched web address then my blog had a little meltdown but thanks to the lovely people behind the brain of wordpress, they got it working for me again.

Despite being really busy at work, I hope to start blogging more as I have really missed it.

Today I wanted to share with you a Tardis cake that I attempted to make.

I have never made a “standing up” cake before and let me tell you, it was every bit as hard as I imagined it to be.

For those of you who are used to decorating cakes, you will know that trying to get fondant to stand up is a difficult task. So even though this cake doesn’t really look too great or at all professional I am very happy with it because it did not fall apart as I was expecting it to.

So sure, the sides are a bit wobbly and it’s not exactly proportionate but I tried my best and the birthday girl seemed to really like it so that’s all that matters, right?!

Any questions on how I made the cake are welcome!

I have returned!!!

Wow, it has been a long time. Sorry blog!

It’s been a month and a half since I’ve posted anything on my little blog and truth be told I really missed it.

I have been busy at work and busy preparing for Christmas but enough of the excuses I have returned now and will get back to posting at least once a week!

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

Artist’s Block

The last time I actually sat down and completed a drawing was back in July when I drew this.

Since then I have attempted many other drawings, but none were coming out to my satisfaction and I developed artist’s block.

I have done a few paintings since then, but painting is not my forte so I would really like to get back into drawing, but how?

That is the burning question. How do you get over artist block? Similarly, how do you get over writers block? Or any kind of creative block you may be facing.

Normally my advise would be to walk away and only come back when you feel in a good mood about what you are trying to accomplish. But seeing as I haven’t been able to complete a drawing since July, I think I need to bring in some reinforcements.

So, my question to you is, what do you do when you are finding yourself unable to complete something you love to do?

Tips, comments, suggestions, advice, all is welcome!
